I’m With Willie
January 11, 2010
Let’s talk politics.
I’ve made no secret that I am sick and tired of my U.S. Congressional Representative, Mr. Solomon Ortiz. I’ve talked at length about his corruption and his refusal to listen to his constituents. I took a good look at all the candidates who were brave enough to step forward to take on a 26 year incumbent and I decided that I would back William R “Willie” Vaden.
You can head over to his website to read more about Willie Vaden. The thing I want to note today is the cracking shot he laid across Solomon Ortiz’s bow today. He posted an essay on Facebook entitled “Why I Will Win District 27″. It was so good, that I asked his permission to send out as a press release. Its the kind of manifesto that inspires people! Willie Vaden is a no nonsense kind of guy. He’s not fancy or polished, but he is very knowledgeable about the things that affect our little slice of heaven here on the Gulf Coast. We have three military bases and two ports–guess what? He’s a port captain by trade and served as a Marine during the Vietnam War! I think he is, by far, the best candidate for the job. His life has earned him a Ph.D. from the School of Hard Knocks and he has studied and memorized the Constitution of the United States of America–the most important text in history and one that I seriously doubt Solomon Ortiz has reviewed lately.
Congressional reps who continue to ignore their constituents must be replaced. Every time I call Solomon Ortiz’s office to find out how he intends to vote, I get told he hasn’t decided. What that really means is that Nancy Pelosi hasn’t decided how she needs him to vote. She throws little bits of money at District 27 so that Solomon Ortiz can look like he’s “bringing home the bacon” to his people. Well, guess what, Mr. Ortiz? We don’t want the bacon that you have stolen from our children’s mouths! If we cannot afford all these “earmarks” and we are borrowing from your favorite vacation spot China so that you can look like a benevolent daddy, then you, sir, are stealing from our kids futures. We’ve had enough, it is time for you to go.
I believe Willie Vaden is the answer to the problems that face District 27.
Check him out. Send him some money. If you don’t, Nancy Pelosi will continue to decide the fate of the people of District 27.
