This is How we do it in Texas

OMG! Lookie here what I found over at Sundries Shack!! My friend, Jimmie Bise was show casing a member of congress calling out the corrupt Charlie Rangel for his complete inability to remember to pay his taxes. Low and behold its from Rep. John Carter from the Great State of Texas!! Congressman Carter represents the 31st district located in the central area of Texas. He wrote a scathing piece over at Red State stating in no uncertain terms that Congressman Rangel should resign. NOW.
Says Congressman Carter:
“The reputation and integrity of this body has suffered serious damage by the actions of Mr. Rangel, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not lived up to her promise to make this the most honest and ethical House in history.”
So he introduced a resolution to force Rangel to step down from the powerful Ways and Means committe—you know, the guys who make up the the tax laws (ironic, I know). It was, of course shot down by all the Democrats that want to continue to cover the Congressman’s considerable sins.
Guess how Solomon Ortiz voted? Not surprisingly, Congressman Ortiz (my representative) voted to allow Rangel to keep his power. That is soooooooo shocking, I know. Congressman Ortiz must be one of those ones that Congresswoman Maxine Waters was talking about when she said (in defense of Rangel) :
“I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you’re going to find that there were disclosures that were not made,”
Not that I have any proof of that. Just thinking out loud here.

It’s all talk. As we all know, the politicians will say anything to get elected.
I hope we get a chance to turn some of these people out of office in 2010.
